Walmart In West Chatham Goes On Hiring Spree Ahead Of Reopening

The retailer has 50-75 open positions, with pay starting at $14 an hour.

WEST CHATHAM — Months after city unrest forced the store to close its doors, the West Chatham Walmart is set to reopen — and it’s looking to fill dozens of positions at the Southwest Side location.

The Walmart Supercenter, 8331 S. Stewart Ave., has been closed since June. It’s set to reopen at the end of the year.

Open positions include cashiers, customer hosts, online grocery pickup associates and stockroom associates. Pay starts at $14 an hour. The retailer hopes to hire 50-75 workers.
