PILSEN — Pilsen residents can get free flu shots and take a coronavirus test while children get treats during a Halloween event this weekend.

The event is noon-4 p.m. Saturday at Harrison Park, 1824 S. Wood St.

Hosted by Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez (25th), visitors also can get free coffee from Dark Matter and treats from the alderman’s office.

The event comes as coronavirus infections have spiked in nearby ZIP codes, disproportionately affecting Latino communities that never fully recovered from the first surge of the virus, local leaders say.

Staffers also will provide information on COVID-19 prevention measures, Sigcho-Lopez said.
