ENGLEWOOD — The Englewood Job and Resource Fair is being held Thursday for residents in search of opportunities.

Job seekers of all skill sets and experience levels are encouraged to register in advance of the Thursday event. The fair will run noon-3 p.m. on Zoom. To register and for more information, email englewoodjobs2020@gmail.com.

Attendees should expect to stay for the duration, said Roger Engelmann, Bright Community Services executive director.

Job seekers will watch a brief presentation from participating employers before being divided into breakout rooms for interviews.

Participating companies and organizations include Amazon, Burger King, Chicago Public Schools, Cintas, Elite Staffing, JP Morgan Chase, Lowe’s, Metro Staff, Inc., Marquette Bank, UPS and Worldwide Flight Services.

“We’ll have opportunities for everyone, from college students to to those who want to explore entrepreneurship,” Engelmann said.

Those who register ahead of time will be able to receive help fine-tuning their resumes. Staff from Stay Lit and the Greater Englewood Community Development Corporation, two of the event’s sponsors, are offering resume services.

More than 180 people registered for the fair in May, and Engelmann hopes to surpass that number this time around by making the online event more accessible. People who weren’t able to register early can still log on, Engelmann said.

“We’re hopeful that this is the last virtual fair because we miss doing the in-person fairs so much, but that depends on how things go,” Engelmann said.

Organizers encourage participants to dress professionally and have a fully charged mobile phone.
