WEST LOOP — The Plumbers Local 130 union will unveil plans for a six-story office building and a seven-story parking garage Monday.
The union will present its plans for the property at 1341 W. Randolph St. during a virtual community meeting at 6 p.m. The meeting is being hosted by the West Loop Community Organization and Ald. Walter Burnett Jr. (27th).
The union, which owns the site, wants to build a six-story office building and a seven-story parking garage with 502 spaces, according to a zoning application.
The new building and parking garage would sit next the union’s two-story auditorium and training center. The parking garage would also include 14,726 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor and an outdoor patio, according to paperwork filed with the city.
The area has seen many developments with few parking spots, and neighbors have long called on Burnett and city planners to require projects to include more parking.
The plan will need approval from Burnett and neighborhood groups before moving forward.
Neighbors interested in the meeting can register here.
