WEST LOOP — After three years inside the West Loop’s Ace Hotel, City Mouse will permanently close Sunday.
“Our hearts are heavy and our hearts are full,” the team said in announcing the closing of the restaurant within the hotel at 311 N. Morgan St.
“Over the last three years, it’s been an honor to have you here to host your birthdays, anniversaries, first dates (the good ones), after-work happy hours, and opulent weekend brunches,” the message read.
“We want to thank our partners at Giant who are still very much open and definitely worth your time/dime — as are the other great restaurants in our beautiful city who are fighting to survive through this pandemic.”
Alinea Group plans to operate in the City Mouse space for three months beginning in November, according to the Tribune.
Ace Hotel Chicago executive chef Pat SheerinGiant chefs Jason Vincent and Ben Lustbader oversaw City Mouse’s food program, which focused on seasonal ingredients and Midwestern fare, according to DNAinfo.
The casual, all-day dining spot opened in July 2017.
