BUCKTOWN — Families looking for a safe and fun trick-or-treating experience on Halloween can head to Bucktown for a socially-distant event.
Twenty-five local businesses will set up booths at the Bucktown Green, 1714 N. Hoyne Ave., and hand out candy 2-4 p.m. Oct. 31.
Event organizers will admit 20 families every 15 minutes. Timed tickets can be bought online. The cost is $5 per family of five.
Trick-or-treaters and families must wear masks, abide by social distancing and follow a one-way traffic route. They can’t eat candy until they’ve left the park.
A costume mask is not a substitute for a cloth mask unless it is made of two or more layers of breathable fabric that covers the mouth and nose and doesn’t leave gaps around the face. Local health officials advise families to be cautious about wearing a costume mask over a protective cloth mask, and consider using a Halloween-themed cloth mask.
Hand sanitizer will be provided at the park’s entrance and exit.
This event is co-sponsored by Canine Crews, Magnolia Pediatric Dentistry, Bucktown Community Organization, Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce and Wicker Park Bucktown Special Service Area No. 33.
