CHICAGO — Thirteen people were reported to have died from coronavirus during the past day in Illinois.

Four of the victims were from Cook County. Illinois has seen at least 8,997 people die from the virus since the pandemic began.

The state also reported 2,742 new cases during the past day, bringing the total up to 321,892. Illinois’ positivity rate was at 4.3 percent, with 47,579 tests reported during the past day.

As of Sunday night, 1,764 people were hospitalized with coronavirus in Illinois, including 377 people in the ICU and 153 people using ventilators.

In Chicago, an average of 347 new cases are being reported and three people are dying per day. The city’s positivity rate was at 4.2 percent.

Chicago has had at least 2,990 people die from COVID-19 and there have been 84,663 confirmed cases.
