32 People Die From Coronavirus In Illinois And 1,617 New Cases Reported

At least 8,836 people have died from COVID-19 across the state.

CHICAGO — Coronavirus killed 32 people during the past day in Illinois.

Among the victims were eight people in Cook County. At least 8,836 people have died from COVID-19 across the state.

Illinois also saw 1,617 new cases reported, bringing the total number of confirmed cases here to 305,011. The state’s positivity rate held at 3.4 percent.

As of Monday night, 1,673 people were hospitalized with coronavirus in Illinois, including 384 people in the ICU and 159 people using ventilators.

In Chicago, an average of 329 new cases are being reported and three people dying per day. The city’s positivity rate was at 4.3 percent.

The city’s seen at least 2,976 people die from coronavirus, and there have been 82,039 confirmed cases.
