EAST GARFIELD PARK — A five-year-old girl was fatally stabbed Saturday on the West Side, according to police.
The stabbing occurred in the 3200 block of West Fulton Blvd in East Garfield Park, according to police.
Officers responded to the area around 9:18 a.m. Saturday and found paramedics treating the girl, who had been stabbed multiple times, police said.
The girl was transported to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead.
Police say the woman suspected in the stabbing “approached” officers on the scene and was taken into custody.
Detectives are investigating.
