CHICAGO — One Tail at a Time is hosting a virtual tiny dog race fundraiser Sunday.
The Logan Square-based animal shelter will hold its Tiny Dog 500 starting 3 p.m. Sunday online, pitting adorably small dogs against one another for a friendly race. The dogs will race in person, but the competitions will be streamed online.
It’s free to watch the races, but those who buy a spectator ticket for $30 online will get four beers, two koozies and a vegan s’mores kit. Pickups are Friday and Saturday. Other ticket options are available for $20 and $15.
The race will have three categories of Chicago-area rescue dogs: feather-weight, light-weight and senior dog, according to a news release from the shelter. All of the dogs are 20 pounds or lighter.
Money raised through the race will help the shelter rescue animals and place them in permanent homes.
