Free Coronavirus Tests Available At Washington Heights Jewel-Osco Thursday

No identification is required but people are urged to pre-register.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A popup coronavirus testing site is coming to the Washington Heights neighborhood Thursday morning.

Jewel-Osco, 9480 S. Ashland Ave., will accept walk-in clients from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday. People are urged not to eat, drink or smoke for at least 20 minutes before the mouth swab test.

Results come in 72 hours, and no identification is required. Pre-register at www.chicagocovidtesting.com to reduce wait time.

The free tests are provided by CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation, The Oral Health Forum, Ald. Howard Brookins (21st), Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore, and State Rep. Justin Slaughter (D-IL).
