GARFIELD RIDGE — Southwest Side residents who want to appeal their property tax bill can get guidance at a drive-thru workshop with officials this weekend.
The event will help Cook County homeowners in the South Chicago, West Chicago and Lake townships appeal their property taxes from 9 a.m. to 11:30 pm. Saturday at Our Lady of Snow, 4810 S. Leamington Ave.
Your township is listed on your property tax bill. Neighborhoods in the townships include Pilsen, Little Village, Brighton Park, McKinley Park, Back of the Yards, Gage Park and Chicago Lawn.
Attendees will be able to complete appeal applications without leaving their vehicles. Staff will answer questions about the appeal process. Homeowners are asked to bring their second property tax bill or property index number.
You can find your tax bill on the Cook County Property Tax Portal, which has property tax information from the Cook County Assessor’s Office, the Board of Review, the Clerk’s Office, the Recorder of Deeds and the Treasurer’s Office.
The event is being cohosted by Cook County Commissioner Alma Anaya, Board of Review Commissioner Mike Cabonargi, State Rep. Aaron Ortiz and Ald. Michael Rodriguez.
