Coronavirus Kills 30 More People In Illinois

Among the victims were four people in Cook County, including a woman in her 50s.

CHICAGO — Coronavirus was reported to have killed 30 people during the past day in Illinois.

Among the victims were four people in Cook County, including a woman in her 50s. At least 8,214 people have died from the virus in Illinois.

Another 1,337 cases were reported, as well, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Illinois to 253,690. The state’s positivity rate fell to 3.7 percent.

As of Tuesday night, 1,580 people were hospitalized with coronavirus in Illinois, including 357 people in the ICU and 133 people using ventilators.

In Chicago, an average of 300 cases are being reported and three people dying per day from coronavirus. The city’s positivity rate held at 5 percent.

At least 2,895 people have died from coronavirus in Chicago, and there have been 73,835 confirmed cases.
