UPTOWN — An Uptown-branded merchandise line is helping struggling local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.

Business Partners, the Uptown chamber of commerce group, has launched a neighborhood merchandise sale that includes T-shirts, hats and coffee mugs. The group partnered on the project with iCandee Marketing, an Uptown business that makes custom apparel and promotional items.

The Uptown virtual store is taking orders until 10 p.m. Sept. 11, when iCandee will begin producing and shipping the products. To check out the store, click here.

An “Uptown proud” T-shirt is available in black, gray and purple for $15. The Uptown baseball hat comes in blue and gray for $20, and an Uptown coffee mug is available in four colors for $15.

The chamber group, formed in 1923, is a nonprofit that coordinates special events in Uptown and has assisted businesses through the coronavirus-caused economic slowdown.

The loss of major events, including the Argyle Night Market festival, has hurt chamber groups, which often use the outings as fundraisers.

“Your purchase helps our nonprofit organization help local businesses and organizations through these challenging times,” a chamber spokesperson said in a press release.
