WEST TOWN — Chicago police say a man attacked a woman in West Town after stealing her belongings Wednesday morning.
About 5:30 a.m., a 26-year-old woman was inside a home in 2100 block of West Ohio Street when she saw a man shatter her car window, said Chicago Police spokeswoman Kellie Bartoli.
The woman told police she saw the man rummaging through the car. The victim confronted the man, who then grabbed the woman’s property from the car and hit the woman’s face and eye, Bartoli said. He ran away.
The woman was bruised but she declined treatment, Bartoli said. No one was in custody Wednesday afternoon.
Detectives are investigating. Anyone who has information can call Area 3 detectives at 312-744-8445.
