PILSEN — Groups and elected officials will give away fresh food and masks Wednesday in Pilsen.
The Zakat Foundation of America will host the giveaway from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Benito Juarez Community Academy, 1450 W. Cermak Road.
The foundation is working with United Neighborhood Organization.
The groups will provide food for up to 300 families and give out 1,500 medical masks, Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez (25th) wrote in a Facebook post.
Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Commissioner Alma Anaya, U.S. Rep. Chuy Garcia, State Sen. Tony Munoz and State Rep. Theresa Mah will also participate.
