Free Food Available Tuesday In Auburn Gresham

Food boxes will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Some of the items included in the Market Boxes, distributed monthly to more than 400 families — mainly on the South Side.

AUBURN GRESHAM — Tuesday is the final day for residents to pick up a free food box at the Auburn Gresham Food Stability Pop-up.

At 10 a.m., people can drive or walk up to the giveaway in the shuttered Save-A-Lot parking lot, 7908 S. Halsted St. Those who walk up are encouraged to bring a cart.

Drivers will be permitted to line up along 80th Street between Morgan and Halsted streets, while pedestrians will be allowed to line up along 80th Street between Green and Halsted streets.

Boxes of food, fresh produce and meat will be given away on a first come, first served basis until supplies last. Coronavirus safety protocols will be followed.

The pop-up is hosted by the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation.
