CHICAGO — Twelve more people died from coronavirus in the past day across Illinois.

Two of the victims were in Cook County. In all, Illinois has seen 7,756 people die from COVID-19.

Another 1,773 cases were reported within the last day, bringing the state’s total confirmed cases up to 207,854. The positivity rate ticked up to 4.2 percent.

As of Sunday night, 1,544 people were hospitalized with coronavirus in Illinois, including 340 people in the ICU and 126 people on ventilators.

In Chicago, there have been 65,826 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 2,823 deaths.

As of Monday, the city was seeing an average of 309 new cases and three deaths per per day, and the positivity rate was at 5 percent.
