CTA Resumes Some Service, But Transit Remain Shut Down In Large Swaths Of City

Trains are not running Downtown — and bus service has also been halted in the surrounding neighborhoods.

CHICAGO — After being shutdown citywide Sunday evening, the CTA resumed some service Monday, but in a limited capacity.

As of 6 a.m., here is what’s happening with various CTA and bus routes:

BUS SERVICE

Bus service not running between Western Avenue and the lakefront, from Fullerton to 47th Street.

RED LINE

Red Line service is suspended between Belmont Avenue and 47th Street.

Trains are operating:

  • between Howard and Belmont
  • between 47th and 95th/Dan Ryan

BLUE LINE

Blue Line service is suspended between Western (O’Hare branch) and Western (Forest Park branch).

Trains are operating:

  • between O’Hare and Western (O’Hare branch)
  • between Western (Forest Park branch) and Forest Park

ORANGE LINE

Orange Line service is suspended between the Loop and 35th/Archer.

Trains are operating:

  • Midway and 35th/Archer

BROWN LINE

Brown Line service is suspended between the Loop and Belmont.

Trains are operating:

  • Between Kimball and Belmont.

GREEN LINE

Green Line service is suspended between California and 47th.

Trains are operating:

  • between Harlem/Lake and California
  • between 47th and 63rd Street terminals

PINK LINE

Pink Line service is suspended between the Loop and Western.

Trains are operating:

  • between 54th/Cermak and Western

PURPLE LINE EXPRESS

Purple Line Express service is suspended between the Loop and Belmont.
