BUCKTOWN — A Chicago police officer was injured Monday in a Bucktown car crash.
The officer, who was riding an ATV on Monday afternoon, was struck by a silver Hyundai at the corner of Cortland and Paulina streets.
The Hyundai hit the officer’s ATV after being T-boned at the intersection by a speeding white SUV, a staffer for Ald. Scott Wasguespack (32nd) said.
The injured officer is receiving treatment at a local hospital and is expected to recover, according to the staffer.
After the collision, a group of people fled the SUV, a witness told Block Club. All but one person has been apprehended by police, the staffer said.
A Chicago Police Department spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment.
This is a developing story.
