Man Threatened Woman At Knifepoint In Hermosa Attack, Police Say

The man ran off after giving the woman small cuts during the Saturday morning attack.

A 14-year-old girl who was shot in the head Wednesday was listed in critical condition at Comer Children’s Hospital, officials said.

CHICAGO — A man threatened to sexually assault a woman at knifepoint Saturday in Hermosa, police said.

At 1 a.m., the woman was walking in the 1900 block of North Keystone Avenue when a man came up to her, took out a knife and threatened to assault her, according to a Chicago Police community alert. The man threw the woman to the ground, kicked her, punched her and cut her arm with his knife.

The man then ran off, police said. The woman had small cuts.

The man was 34-45 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, 150-170 pounds with an afro, police said. He wore black clothing and black combat boots.

People should walk in pairs, be aware of their surroundings and call 911 to report suspicious people and activity, police said.
