WEST TOWN — If you’ve noticed chalk murals outside your favorite restaurant and bar recently, you might have seen the work of Fulton Street Collective.
The West Town group’s artists began an outreach program called heART Support to shine a light on local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. Artists are creating free chalk murals outside businesses, including bars and restaurants offering delivery and takeout.
Murals are made on the sidewalk directly in front of the business. Recently, the artists have chalked outside Club Lago, 331 W. Superior St., and Aberdeen Tap, 440 N. Aberdeen St.
“It is [the collective’s] hope that shining a creative spotlight on prospective businesses will increase their sales and awareness from the Chicago community,” said event coordinator Chris Anderson.
To request a mural outside your business, call Anderson at 773-852-2481 or chris@fultonstreetcollective.com.
The group does not have a GoFundMe, but those interested in helping out can email donate@fultonstreetcollective.com.
