WICKER PARK — Boutique clothing store Futurgarb is leaving the neighborhood after nearly two decades of business as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, owners announced Monday in an email newsletter.

“Due to Covid19, we are very sad to say we are closing our store,” the email said. “Thank you for 20 years of being a loyal customer, and shopping with us. We will never forget you Wicker Park. All the memories, all the laughs, all the amazing people that we’ve met over the years. It was a hard, heartfelt decision, we didn’t want to close or leave you, or leave Wicker Park.”

Futurgarb opened in 2001. Located at 1369 N. Milwaukee Ave., the store sold clothing and accessories for women and men as well as household items.

The owner of the store was not immediately available for additional comment.
