ALBANY PARK — A man was wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in Albany Park, police said.
At about 12:24 p.m., the 26-year-old man was sitting inside a car parked in the 4900 block of North Drake Avenue when someone walked up to the car and shot him in the back, police said.
The victim was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said.
A neighbor who lives near the intersection where the shooting happened said officers were putting up crime scene tape after the shooting. As of 2:22 p.m., a police squad car was still parked at the intersection of Drake Avenue and Ainslie Street, said the neighbor, who asked not to be named.
Arena North detectives are investigating and no additional information was available.
