WEST LOOP — The West Loop’s annual Taste of Randolph street festival that attracts thousands is the latest summer fest to be canceled because of coronavirus.

The three-day festival, planned for June 19-21, will be canceled “to ensure the safety and well being of our neighborhood and city” amid the COVID-19 crisis, officials with the West Loop Community Organization announced Wednesday.

Event producer StarEvents will be refunding all vendors their application fees, the group said.

The neighborhood group plans to host alternative programming in June instead, which will be announced soon.

The 23-year-old street festival celebrates West Loop’s celebrated restaurants and brings bands from across the country to the neighborhood.
