Police Investigating Early Morning Gunfire In Lakeview

No one was injured after someone fired shots from a dark SUV.

LAKEVIEW — Police are investigating a shooting early Tuesday morning on a residential street in Lakeview.

Several shots were heard around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Greenview and West Belle Plaine avenues, police said. No one was reported injured and police are still investigating the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8261 or to submit a tip anonymously online at cpdtip.com.

The shots came from a dark SUV and officers recovered two shell casings at the scene, according to a statement from Ald. Matt Martin (47th).

Martin encouraged anyone will security footage of Tuesday’s shooting to share it with police.
