CHICAGO — The Easter Bunny will drive, not hop, around the 19th Ward on Friday — and he’ll be joined by Blackhawks singer Jim Cornelison.
The unlikely duo will drive through Beverly, Mount Greenwood and Morgan Park, “spreading holiday cheer for those children who have not had the opportunity to see the Easter Bunny” yet, according to a press release from the office of Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th). Easter is Sunday.
The Easter Bunny will be in a convertible while Cornelison will travel behind him in an antique fire truck. The bunny will go slowly, waving to families while Cornelison sings uplifting songs, according to the alderman’s office.
Families are encouraged to stay within their homes or on their front porches since organizers want to practice social distancing during the pandemic. The Easter Bunny and Cornelison will not stop.
The event is 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday. The cars will leave from 10400 S. Western Ave. and go down Western Avenue. They’ll travel throughout the community.
