The blaze broke out just after 2 a.m.. in 2500 block of South Albany Avenue before spreading to three other buildings, police said.
LITTLE VILLAGE — A fire in a Little Village home spread to three others on the block early Tuesday, leaving one firefighter hurt and displacing 10 people.
The firefighter was hit by fragments of a collapsed chimney during the 2:15 a.m. fire in the 2500 block of South Albany Avenue, police said. He was hospitalized in good condition.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation police said.
The man was pronounced dead shortly after the attack, which the judge said was of an "extremely violent and outrageous nature." Emmett Richardson, 39, was ordered held on $3 million bond Tuesday.
