HYDE PARK — Pastry shop Vanille will permanently close its Harper Court location in Hyde Park effective immediately after two years in business.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to sustain operations, especially given the devastating economic situation caused by COVID-19,” owner Sophie Evanoff said in a statement. “We met many wonderful people and loved every minute on the South Side.”
The shop was located at 5229 S. Harper Court.
The announcement came as Evanoff changed the hours for Vanille’s Lincoln Park location, 2108 N. Clark St., to 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
The French Market location, 131 N. Clinton St., is closed “for the foreseeable future.”
Vanille is offering $25 gift cards for the price of $20 and is accepting discounted pre-orders for Easter and “other private small events.”
“I cannot stress the significance of your support during this incredibly difficult time,” Evanoff said.
