BOWMANVILLE — Police Monday night found a teenager with a fatal gunshot wound to his head in a Bowmanville alley.

Estaban Luvianos, 15, was found dead at 9:33 p.m. Monday in the alley in the 2000 block of West Farragut Avenue.

Luvianos lived a block south of where he was found. He was a student at nearby Amundsen High School, Ald. Andre Vasquez (40th) said Tuesday in an email to neighbors.

“While we are fortunate to have one of the safest Wards in the City of Chicago, this is a painful reminder that gun violence is all too present in all our communities, and knows no political or municipal boundaries. Our office remains deeply committed to addressing both the immediate safety of our residents and the root causes of violence in our society,” Vasques said, in the email.

Officers pronounced Luvianos dead on scene. Area North detectives were still investigating. No one is in custody, police said.
