CHICAGO — A man attempted to sexually assault a woman as she slept in her Logan Square home early Monday.
About 1 a.m., the woman was sleeping in her home in the 3000 block of North Spaulding Avenue when she awoke to a man on top of her, according to a Chicago Police community alert. The man was touching the woman inappropriately and tried to take off the blanket she was under.
The woman, who feared she was going to be sexually assaulted, screamed for help, police said.
The man ran out of the woman’s bedroom and went out the home’s back door, police said. He was described as 30-40 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, 150-180 pounds with short, black hair. He wore dark-colored clothing.
Anyone with information about the attack was asked to call police at 312-744-8261.
