PILSEN — A man’s body was found in the South Branch of the Chicago River Tuesday afternoon in East Pilsen, police said.

At 5 p.m, the Marine Unit responded after getting a report of a person in the river. The unidentified man’s body was recovered near the 2200 block of South Lumber Street, police said.

Area Central detectives are conducting a death investigation pending the results of an autopsy, said Kellie Bartoli, a police spokeswoman.
