DOWNTOWN — A man was charged Thursday with sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl at a River North restaurant.

The sexual assault allegedly happened early Monday in the 600 block of North Clark Street, when a man inappropriately touched the toddler, police said. Afterward, police released a photo of the man, asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Christopher Puente, 34, was arrested early Wednesday after refusing to leave a business in the 500 block of North Dearborn Avenue, according to a Chicago Police news release.
While Puente was in custody, officers identified him as the man who allegedly sexually assaulted the toddler, police said.
Puente was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim younger than 13 and criminal trespass to land, police said. He was scheduled to appear in Bond Court on Thursday.
