NORTH CENTER — The Northman’s owners say Chicago’s first cider bar is closing its doors for good on Sunday.
The owners announced their plans to close the bar at 4337 N. Lincoln Ave. on Facebook Monday.
Eater Chicago first reported the closure.
“After much deliberation, last year we decided to sell the building and business that houses The Northman,” owners said in the Facebook post. “New ownership will be taking over the space in late February.”
The new spot will also be “cider focused,” owners said.
After a few false starts, The Northman officially opened its doors in 2016 with a wide selection of ciders and a menu by Chef Sean Sanders.
The closing of the North Center location will not impact the Chicago Riverwalk location.
