LOGAN SQUARE — A surveillance video obtained by Block Club shows a masked gunman firing shots at a car in Logan Square Wednesday afternoon.

The shots were fired in the 2700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue before 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to police and witnesses. No one was injured.

In the video, a person wearing a black hoodie, a face mask and what appear to be black gloves fires several shots at a car before running off.

The gunman emerges from behind a yellow school bus in the top right of the video frame at the 4-second mark.

The gunman then fires five shots in quick succession in the direction of the parked cars before disappearing behind the bus and then firing two more shots.

The video also shows two people ducking near their car as the shots ring out.

The shooting happened during Wednesday’s evening commute on a busy stretch of Milwaukee Avenue, near the Spaulding Blue Line entrance.

On Wednesday, Officer Steve Rusanov, a Chicago Police spokesman, said the Chicago Police News Affairs department wasn’t notified of a shooting at that location.

“All we have from responding officers is a criminal damage to vehicle report,” Rusanov said in an email.
