WICKER PARK — Wicker Park and Bucktown neighbors who live east of Damen Avenue are about to get a new grocery store.

GoGrocer, a Chicago chain of independent grocery stores, will open this weekend at 1867 W. North Ave. The location marks GoGrocer’s 10th store in Chicago.

Brothers Greg and Paul Stellatos founded GoGrocer in 2008 in Wicker Park at 2060 W. North Ave. That store will remain open.

“Business has been so good we are opening another location [in the neighborhood],” Greg Stellatos said. “We’re really looking forward to opening.”

Stellatos said he hopes to open the new store as early as Friday.

The stores are known for their fresh, ready-made sandwiches, salads and wraps, in addition to a selection of produce, groceries, wine and beer.

Despite the stores’ “small footprints,” GoGrocer carries about 3,000 different items, Stellatos said.
