CHICAGO — Forget flowers: You can send a bunch of puppies to visit your loved ones this Valentine’s Day.
One Tail at a Time is calling the gift a “puppy-gram:” You can make a donation and the Logan Square-based shelter will bring up to five bloodhound puppies to visit your loved one for up to a half hour on Valentine’s Day, according to a news release.
A classic symbol of detective work, the bloodhound pups are all named after sleuths like Nancy Drew, Ace Ventura and Jacques Clouseau.
A $250 donation to the Logan Square rescue shelter will net your valentine 15 minutes with one puppy, a $500 donation will get him or her 30 minutes with two puppies and a $1,000 donation translates to 30 minutes with five puppies.
One Tail at a Time will bring the puppies, a personalized card and a shelter calendar to your valentine for a sweet surprise. The puppy-grams are only available Feb. 14 within city limits.
You can order a puppy-gram online.
The puppies will be up for adoption in several months. For now, they need to stay with their mom, a 3-year-old named Lady Pinkerton who was rescued from Arkansas.
