PILSEN — More than 20 restaurants will come together to bring some of the city’s best Latino chefs under one roof in Pilsen later this month at Pilsen Gourmet.

The new event, hosted by the team behind Pilsen Fest, will include chef demonstrations, unlimited food samples, beer and cocktails, a silent auction and live music from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 at Blue1647, 1647 S. Blue Island Ave.

Five Rabanitos, La Luna, Yvolina’s Tamales and Taquería Sabor Y Sazón are among the Pilsen restaurants participating.

Diana Dávila, chef/owner of Mi Tocaya Antojería in Logan Square, will host a chef demo. Dudley Nieto of Takito Street, Francisco López of New Rebozo and Biba Galindo of Soy Viva will also show their skills at the event.

Tickets for Pilsen Gourmet start at $30 are on sale now. Proceeds will benefit Pilsen Fest, the annual summer festival celebrating the neighborhood’s unique culture and Latinx talent. 

Pilsen Restaurant Week

Following Pilsen Gourmet, the 1st Annual Pilsen Restaurant Week will kick off Sunday, March 1 and run until Saturday, March 7. More than 20 Pilsen restaurants will offer special pre-fixed menus featuring traditional and contemporary dishes during lunch and dinner.

A participating list of restaurants has yet to be announced. Stay tuned for more details.
