CHICAGO — Wrigleyville’s Gallagher Way ice rink closes for the season next week.
But the rink’s not going out without a farewell: Skaters can hop on the ice and help cover it in paint on Feb. 16 to mark an end to the season. The event, dubbed Paint the Ice, has become an annual tradition.
Skating runs 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday but Paint the Ice is 2-5 p.m. at the rink, 3635 N. Clark St. Participants should wear clothes that can be damaged by paint.
Paint the Ice is free, but admission to the rink is $6 for people 13 and older. Children 12 and younger skate for free.
Skate rental is $12.
