CHICAGO — You don’t need to head to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras.

Houndstooth Saloon will transform into the French Korner, a Mardi Gras pop-up bar, starting 4 p.m. Tuesday. The bar, 3369 N. Clark St., will be decorated to look like a parade float and will serve up specialty cocktails and food, including a Chicago Creole hot dog and beignets.

The bar will celebrate with the Bourbon Street Burlesque show on Mondays and with live jazz and blues music on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There will also be specialty events like a masquerade ball on Feb. 15 and mask painting on Feb. 11.

The pop-up will close after Feb. 25, which is Mardi Gras.

Houndstooth is open 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Fridays, 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Sundays.
