DOWNTOWN — Robbers on the Red Line have stolen from kids twice this month, police said.
The robbers went up to kids or teens while on the train, took out a gun or implied they had a gun and then took money from the victims, according to a Chicago Police community alert.
The robberies occurred:
- 3 p.m. Jan. 8 in the 1100 block of North State Street
- 1:40 p.m. Jan. 10 in the 100 block of North State Street
In one incident, the robbers were described as a teen or man who was 17-25 years old and worked with a man who was 20-25 years old, police said.
In another incident, one robber was black, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, 130-140 pounds and had brown eyes and wore a black jacket, black pants and had a tattoo of a cross on his forehead, police said.
