CHICAGO — Chicagoans will strip down to their skivvies for a nearly mile-long job for charity in Lakeview.
The Cupid’s Undie Run will challenge its runners to jog in the near-nude on Feb. 8. Money raised through the event will go toward research for a cure for neurofibromatosis, a disorder that leads to tumors growing on people’s nerves.
“We run in our undies because those affected with NF can’t cover up their tumors to feel more comfortable, so why should we?” the organizers wrote.
Participants will check in, go for a short run and then party at Sluggers sports bar, 3540 N. Clark St. Fundraising more money can lead to rewards like a T-shirt, an open bar at the Sluggers party or underwear.
The Undie Run is held in more than 30 cities across the United States.
Chicago’s event is noon-4 p.m. Feb. 8. Registration costs $40.
