WEST LOOP — About a year after opening, Buona Beef has closed its West Loop location.
An outgoing voicemail alerted callers that the company had moved out of the 804 W. Washington Blvd. location and urged those craving the Italian beef to check out their Streeterville store at 613 N. McClurg Court instead.
On Monday, the windows of the shop were covered with brown butcher paper with a single note stating the West Loop location had closed and was being redeveloped.

The West Loop location was the chain’s third in Chicago and 24th nationally when it opened in November 2018.
The 2,100-square-foot restaurant previously housed Harold’s Chicken, according to DNAinfo.
A Buona Beef representative could not be reached for comment.
The two-story building at Washington and Halsted, which also formerly housed Mexican restaurant Más, was bought by West Loop-based R2 Companies for $5.3 million in 2016. At the time, the developer planned a gut renovation of the building.
