CHICAGO — Alive Rescue is asking supporters to jump into Lake Michigan to help animals.
The rescue will host its annual Shelter Shiver fundraiser on Jan. 26. Participants will raise money and then jump into the lake. After, they can go to a party at Joe’s Bar, 940 W. Weed St., for free appetizers and free juice and soda.
There will also be prizes for the person who has the best costume for the plunge, the team with the best theme and for the top fundraisers.
The event will raise money for Alive Rescue, which helps care for and find permanent homes for dogs and cats.
The event starts 10 a.m. Jan. 26 at North Avenue Beach, 1600 N. Lake Shore Drive.
Registration is $25 and can be done online.
