NEAR WEST SIDE— A 17-year-old was shot in his chest Tuesday evening on the Near West Side, police said.
At 6:42 p.m, the boy was on the sidewalk in the 2200 block of West Maypole Avenue when he was shot in the chest, police said.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
No one is in custody and Area Central Detectives are investigating.
