IRVING PARK — A man wounded in a shooting at a gas station earlier this month is no longer in critical condition, police said.

The 29-year-old was sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked car in the lot of a gas station in the 3700 block of West Addison Street on Dec. 21.

Around 3:40 a.m. that morning, a gunman standing in the street fired shots towards the gas station, hitting the 29-year-old in the right buttock, police said.

The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was initially listed in critical condition. His condition has since stabilized, according to police spokesperson Kellie Bartoli.

The gunman was last seen wearing a gray jacket, black shoes and a gray skull cap.

The gas station has at least five surveillance cameras facing its parking lot. Police declined to say if they had video footage of the gunman or the shooting.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is being asked to contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8261. Police can also submit a tip anonymously online at cpdtip.com.
