Thieves Take Items From Vehicles, Steal Car Parts In Pilsen

PILSEN — Police are warning drivers to hide their valuables after thieves targeted parked cars in Pilsen this month.

In six separate incidents, thieves broke into parked cars and took items from inside. They also stole car parts from those vehicles, police said in a news alert. 

The most recent incident happened in the 2200 block of South Bell Avenue at 5:50 a.m. December 26.

The other incidents happened in the: 

• 2000 block of West 22nd Place between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and 11:45 a.m.  Dec. 26

• 2100 block of West Cermak Road at 4:55 p.m. Dec. 23

• 2000 block of West Coulter Street at 3:30 a.m. Dec. 18

• 2600 block of South Leavitt Street between 5 p.m. Dec. 17 and 5 a.m. 

• 2400 block of South Leavitt Street between midnight and 4:25 a.m. on Dec. 17
