Boy, 11, Escapes From Woman Who Tried To Grab Him In Brighton Park, Police Say

The attempted kidnapping happened Tuesday in the 4500 block of South Archer Avenue, police said.

CHICAGO — A woman tried to lure an 11-year-old boy to her Tuesday in Brighton Park but he ran away from her, police said.

About 4:20 p.m., the boy was walking in the 4500 block of South Archer Avenue when a woman told him, “Come over here,” according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The woman grabbed the boy by his arm and his backpack, but he was able to get away and ran home, police said.

The woman was 50-60 years old, about 5 feet tall and had short, white hair and wore a red jacket, police said.
