LOGAN SQUARE — A Turkish cafe offering health-conscious drinks packed with superfoods has expanded south to the Logan Square-Bucktown border.
Located at 1912 N. Western Ave., Oromo Cafe Bucktown opened in October.
Because it is on the west side of Western Avenue, the restaurant is in Logan Square. It borders the western edge of Bucktown.
Hours of operation are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Reach Oromo Bucktown by calling 773-904-8147.
Oromo Cafe opened its original Lincoln Square spot, 4703 N. Lincoln Ave., in 2016.
Drawing inspiration from the craft cocktail movement, Oromo Cafe’s owners created a menu of craft lattes, chef Corey Joseph has said.
Joseph, who has a culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis, concocted house-made nut milks and simple syrups (using coconut, not cane, sugar).
“Super foods” like maca, along with nuts and fruits, figure heavily into lattes and bites. Check out the menu here.
