Dana Dougherty, vice president of Greater Rockwell Organization, said she partnered with Paige Worthy from Heart of Lincoln Square Neighbors Association and Maggie O’Keefe from Lincoln Square North Neighbors to launch the brigade.

The three Lincoln Square-area groups were inspired by My Block, My Hood, My City, an organization that serves communities on the South and West sides, which organizes volunteer snow-shoveling drives across the city.

“We all thought what they do is great and decided we could do something like that here too,” she said.
